Adele Sauros Quartet on Nordic Jazz Comets tour in Sweden

Finnish Jazz Federation develops the sustainability of touring concepts. During fall 2022, we study the emissions of seven differently produced tours, and collect data about their impacts and user experiences. The fifth of the pilot tours takes Adele Sauros Quartet to West-Southern Sweden to play four concerts at Knutpunkt network’s member clubs and participate in a video project.

The 2020–2021 project ’Nordic Jazz Comets In The Key Of Green’ between the Nordic national jazz organizations and a network of clubs and festivals, paved way for more environmentally sustainable practices in concert and tour productions. As a club network within a club network, the Knutpunkt (’nodal point’) took part in the project, and now invites the 2022 Nordic Jazz Comets band Adele Sauros Quartet to Sweden.

In October, saxophonist Adele Sauros’ Quartet tours South-Western Sweden at the network member clubs. One of the performances is a music video of a pop-up concert at the first IKEA building at the birthplace of the iconic brand in Älmhult. The InDiiD video project (Innovativ Digital Distribution Of Concerts) brings the appreciation of culture to the focus of city planning. The project is coordinated by the Gothenburg Artists Center.

The quartet, led by saxophonist Adele Sauros, was founded already in 2012. In 2022, the band was selected to represent Finland at the Nordic Jazz Comets showcase in Copenhagen. Sauros’s style is characterized by strong moods and nuanced expression. The melodic and serious compositions, which boldly combine different styles, draw inspiration from the tradition of both Nordic and American jazz.
