Elma.live Participates in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival

21.11.2024

The Finnish Jazz Federation’s project, Elma.live, is represented this year at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in England.

On Thursday, November 21, Matilda Seppälä will present her speech and live-electronics work, Putkamelodraama. This autobiographical and reflective piece explores themes of environmental activism and morality. Following the performance, Seppälä – who is also one of the Finnish artists involved in the Music Declares Emergency (DME) campaign – will discuss the work and its themes with Elma.live project coordinator Anu Ahola.

The event will also highlight messages and insights from Finland’s sustainable development initiatives within the music industry.
