The Finnish Jazz Federation at Music x Media

Music x Media and the Finnish Jazz Federation are jointly hosting a panel discussion on the international direction of Finnish jazz on Friday, 2 October. The discussion will explore what Finnish jazz looks like now that it is symbolically celebrating its 100th anniversary, and what lies behind the current success of Finnish jazz. The panel will look at the latest breakthroughs, trends and current developments, as well as the position of Finnish jazz on the international scene. The discussion will feature leading professionals with international experience in the field:

Sari Aalto-Setälä, Music Finland, Executive Director

Matti Nives, We Jazz, Founder and Creative Director

Annamaija Saarela, G Livelab Tampere, CEO

The discussion will be moderated by Laura Korhonen, journalist, Yle.

In addition, the Finnish Jazz Federation will join Elma.live and Tiketti on 2 October to open up a shared space at Music x Media for discussion on sustainability.

The Finnish Jazz Federation is also nominated for Organisation of the Year 2026 at the Music x Media Industry Awards, which recognise achievements and successes in the music and media industries. The winners will be selected based on a combination of a public vote and the jury’s decision. The voting period ends on 17 September. The Industry Awards gala will take place at Tampere Hall on 2 October.
