5.6.2023

Valtteri Pokela has been appointed as the Finnish Jazz Federation’s new Producer-Publicist. He begins in his new role in August 2023.

Pokela has completed a Master of Music degree at the Arts Management, Society and Creative Entrepreneurship program at the Uniarts Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy, and a Cultural Manager degree at the Humak University of Applied Sciences. Pokela comes to the Finnish Jazz Federation from his current position as acting Education Manager at the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and has previously held a range of production and communications roles in organisations such as the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the April Jazz Festival.

“It is a privilege to join the continuously evolving Finnish Jazz Federation, which has contributed to the establishment of many key infrastructures in the Finnish jazz sector. The Federation’s active approach to responsibility issues resonates both with my personal values and with my previous work experience, hence I look forward to new challenges with excitement. I completed my university internship at the Finnish Jazz Federation nearly ten years ago, and returning to the familiar office feels like a homecoming in many ways.”

Pokela takes over the role of Publicist-Producer from Raisa Siivola, who has worked for the Finnish Jazz Federation since 2011.

The Finnish Jazz Federation extends a warm welcome to Pokela.
