Finnish Jazz Federation’s first responsibility report has been published

2.6.2023

Finnish Jazz Federation’s inaugural responsibility program was completed in 2022. The program identifies the following four strategic responsibility goals:

1. Equality and non-discrimination in the jazz industry

2. Accessibility of jazz

3. Environmentally friendly jazz industry

4. Good governance

During 2022, Finnish Jazz Federation’s responsibility work moved forward in leaps and bounds. In addition to launching our responsibility program, we created a new environmental plan and in August, the Federation received the EcoCompass certificate. We expanded our equality working group into a wider responsibility working group and created safer space principles to cover all our activities. During the year, we also delivered two large-scale development projects. We administered and coordinated the Finnish Jazz Federation’s carbon neutral touring model project, where we piloted and tested a range of more sustainable touring models. In addition, we administered the development of Elma.live, a digital platform for sustainable development to serve the entire music sector, in collaboration with our organisational partners.

The Finnish Jazz Federation Board monitors our four goal performance indicators, and each year the results are compiled into a responsibility report. The Finnish Jazz Federation’s inaugural report has now been released and is available to read as part of the Federation’s Annual Report.
