Jazz Federation nominated for Organization of the Year
The Finnish Jazz Federation has been nominated for the Organization of the Year award at the Music x Media Industry Awards. Other nominees in the same category include IndieCo, LiveFIN, Suomen Musiikintekijät and Tapahtumateollisuus.
The Industry Awards Gala will take place on Friday, September 26, at Tampere Hall’s Sorsapuistosali from 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
In the nomination description, it is stated: “During the review period, the Finnish Jazz Federation has demonstrated strong strategic and long-term activity, remaining true to its values while promoting the sustainable development of live music. The federation has actively implemented and communicated the Live Music Climate Roadmap, which has engaged over 100 industry stakeholders, and has managed the Elma.live digital platform for sustainable development. Both initiatives have been highlighted as examples of sustainability efforts in the cultural sector in international reports and recognized by EU expert groups.”
The nomination also highlights several key initiatives of the Jazz Federation, including the Action Plan for the Accessibility of Jazz Music 2024–2026, the nationwide expansion of the Jazz Camp for Girls program, and the multidisciplinary Jamiluokka concept, which develops the professional skills, performance readiness, and networking opportunities of music students pursuing careers in the field.
